Family Law
Stuart joined 15 Winckley Square in February 2024 after moving from practice on the North Eastern Circuit for a number of years.
He is a specialist family barrister and has a strong public law practice appearing on behalf of parents and children in the High Court and County Court.
Stuart also accepts instructions in respect of private law matters and prides himself on building trusting relationships with clients.
Outside chambers, Stuart enjoys rugby, running and swimming.

Case concerning shaken baby syndrome before Hayden J.
LCC v R & W EWHA [2013] Mostyn J. Led by Mr Rowley KC
On behalf of the child. The case considered a challenge to orthodoxy within ophthalmology and rotational forces required to cause bi-lateral retinal bleeds.

2021
Led by Christian Durham Hall on a complex case for the child relating to factitious induced illness.
Represented the father in a four week trial before MacDonald J. where the death of a child was the central issue.
2020
Led by Mr Ekaney KC on a 4 week matter concerning a vulnerable child accused of rape of his siblings.
2015
LCC v M & H 2015: Represented the father in a suffocation case being led by Mr Ekaney KC ‘Overlay’ was in principle finding.
Oldham v B & S 2015: Hayden J. Led by Mr Ekaney KC: An eight day fact finding hearing where low height fall was considered and the issue of consanguinity was explored. The parents were from the asian community and were cousins.
2013
Stuart acted for the child in the High Court in a matter concerning whether or not a child should be given the triple MMR vaccine contrary to their birthparents wishes Re: B.
2012
LCC v A 2012 Jackson J. Led by Mr. Ekaney KC on a three week complex baby shaking case involving the death of a twin sibling.
MCC v S 2014: Represented the mother in a 3 week starvation case.
